The Challenge

John Francis Peters creates what he calls “visual medicine”, large-format artwork with emotional and spiritual resonance. His goal was unusual: he didn’t want to sell his work through the typical commercial art world channels. He wanted his images to become widely known and widely felt, to find people who needed them, regardless of whether a transaction followed. The challenge was reaching a global audience organically, without compromising the integrity or the positioning of the work.

Our Approach

Pinterest was the right call. It functions as a visual search engine with a long content shelf life; a pin published today can drive traffic for months or years. We built John’s account from scratch: profile optimization, a board architecture organized around emotional and thematic entry points rather than product categories, and a pin creation strategy designed around discoverability.

Every pin was SEO-forward with keyword-rich titles and descriptions targeting search terms his ideal audience was already using. We developed bilingual content in Spanish and Portuguese to open international reach. Paid campaigns were layered in once the organic foundation was solid, targeting audiences in the US, Europe, and Latin America. We compressed image files carefully to prevent quality loss without killing load speed, and A/B tested pin formats to identify what drove saves versus clicks.

They understood immediately that I wasn’t trying to sell — I was trying to reach. That distinction changed everything about how they approached the strategy.
